Connect an agent

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code or Codex to Knighn with one MCP address.

One address works in every client: https://mcp.knighn.com/mcp. The first time, the agent opens a Knighn page where you sign in and choose what it may do. The Mac app also has a local MCP server that edits the designs open in the app, live: Settings > Agents (on the web) adds it to the coding agents on your Mac.

Settings > Agents in the Mac app

Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings > Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Knighn and paste https://mcp.knighn.com/mcp as the address.
  3. Choose Connect. A Knighn page opens: sign in and allow the permissions you want.
  4. In a chat, turn Knighn on from the tools menu and ask for a design.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings > Apps and connectors. Turn on developer mode in Advanced settings if your plan asks for it.
  2. Choose Create, name it Knighn and paste https://mcp.knighn.com/mcp as the MCP server address, with OAuth as the authentication.
  3. Sign in on the Knighn page that opens and allow the permissions you want.
  4. In a chat, pick Knighn from the tools menu and ask for a design.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http knighn https://mcp.knighn.com/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose knighn to sign in.

Codex

codex mcp add knighn --url https://mcp.knighn.com/mcp
codex mcp login knighn

Cursor and other clients

Add this to the client's MCP settings (in Cursor: Settings > MCP > Add new server). The client opens the Knighn sign-in page the first time it connects.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "knighn": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.knighn.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

The two tools

  • search finds screens, components and layers in your designs, your files, the design guide, templates, styles, fonts, icons, brand logos and recent errors. It only reads.
  • execute runs a short JavaScript snippet against one design: add screens, change layers, set tokens, take screenshots and export. It can make a new design, and it can delete layers. See the agent API.

When one of your Macs is online with the Knighn app or its background service, both tools can run there, so screenshots and exports work as they do in the app.

Permissions

You choose these on the sign-in page. An agent can do only what you allow.

Permission What it allows
designs:read Search and read your designs. Needed for search.
designs:write Create and change your designs. Needed for execute.

Revoke access

Open Settings > Devices & Connections (on the web) in the Mac app or at app.knighn.com and choose Revoke next to an app. Its access stops at once, and it must sign in again to connect. A client that cannot sign in can use an API key link instead; delete the key in the same place.
