Import a website

Turn a live web page, or a whole site, into an editable Knighn design.

Knighn opens the page in a browser, captures each element with its styles, and writes it as TSX with Tailwind classes. Cookie banners, chat widgets and pop-ups are left out.

In the app

Choose File > Import Web Page…, paste the address and choose Import. The page lands on the canvas as a screen you can edit. Dark mode captures the page as it looks in the dark scheme, and Hide overlays leaves out banners and pop-ups. Open the web page import (on the web).

The Mac app captures with the Chrome, Edge or Chromium on your Mac. The web app captures through one of your Macs when one is online, and else in a sandbox with no scripts.

From Terminal

Import one page. The design goes to your Knighn account (run knighn login first):

knighn import https://example.com

Import the page and every page of the same site it links to, as one design:

knighn import https://example.com --crawl

Write .html design files to a folder instead of your account:

knighn import https://example.com --local designs

Pages are captured at 1440 pixels wide in the light scheme. --scheme dark captures them in the dark scheme. See knighn import for every option.

From an agent

An agent with the Knighn MCP can call ImportWebPage(url) in an execute snippet. See the execute API.
